In some cases, the actor played in both second lead and lesser supporting roles, depending on the movie that they made with Ty. All these gentlemen were fine actors who added much to the films.

George Sanders made his American film debut in Lloyds of London, which was Tyrone Power's first starring role. Ty's last film was also with George Sanders. It was on the set of Solomon and Sheba that Ty suffered his fatal heart attack during the filming of a dueling scene George Sanders. Though they were always adversaries in films, they were friends off-screen.

Don Ameche and Tyrone Power were very good friends off-screen. Their friendship went back to the days when both were working in Chicago. Ameche was a successful radio man, while Ty was also doing radio work, much less successful than Ameche's work. Later, fortunes changed when Ty won the role of Jonathan Blake in Lloyds of London, replacing Ameche, who had originally been chosen for the part. Nonetheless, the two remained good friends, and Ameche was best man at Ty's wedding to Annabella in 1939. Don Ameche starred in 1985's Cocoon and 1988's Cocoon: The Return . Ty's son, Tyrone Power, Jr., appeared in a small part in both movies.

Michael Rennie began his film career in England, as a standin and in bit parts. He then quit for awhile to get a little experience on stage. In 1941, he joined the Royal Air Force and trained as a fighter pilot, taking time off from his film career. He had achieved star status in Britain when Tyrone Power saw his work and recommended Michael Rennie for a key role in The Black Rose . They became friends, and Rennie appeared in a few other Tyrone Power films.

Orson Welles was a talented writer, producer, director, and actor. At the age of twenty-five he co-wrote, directed, produced, and starred in Citizen Kane, which received nine Academy Award nominations. The movie wasn't a success at the box office, but it has remained a critically-acclaimed film. His career was a mixed bag. Throughout his life, he continued to write, direct, produce, and perform in movies, but he never realized his full potential. In addition to starring roles, he often played character roles. People in Hollywood found Welles extremely difficult to work with; however, Linda Christian, Tyrone Power's second wife, has commented that she and Ty Power both liked and respected Orson Welles.

John Sutton was the leading man for 1943's Tonight We Raid Calais. This movie was filmed after Tyrone Power went off to war, and it starred Annabella, Ty's wife at the time. Tonight We Raid Calais was her first venture into making movies since her marriage to Tyrone.

Herbert Marshall began his career on the London stage. In his early film career, he was a sophisticated leading man. Later, he was quite effective in character roles. During his service in His Majesty's Army during the first World War, he lost a leg. He became accustomed to a prosthetic limb, and few people realized that one of his legs was artificial.

Lee J. Cobb had a fine career in film, television, and on stage. He appeared in sixteen Broadway shows, with 1949's Death of a Salesman probably his greatest stage triumph. In 1967, he was nominated for an Emmy for "Outstanding Single Performance by an Actor in a Leading Role in a Drama" for his television role of Willy Loman in Death of a Salesman, the same role that he had played years earlier on Broadway.
