This page features the actresses who were in movies with Ty in his pre-stardom years. During this very early phase of his film career, before Lloyds of London, he was either uncredited or billed as Tyrone Power, Jr. In 1934's Flirtation Walk, he was an uncredited cadet and had no lines. This was when he left Hollywood, only to return two years later, after being spotted by a 20th Century-Fox scout on stage in New York. In 1936, he was credited as Tyrone Power, Jr. in two films. In Girls' Dormitory, he had a bit part as Count Vallais, and, in Ladies in Love, he had a small role as Count Karl Lanyi, the love interest of the Loretta Young character (pictured above in that role).

Janet Gaynor was married three times: to Jesse Lydell Peck, from 1929 - 1933 (divorced). She then married Gilbert Adrian, a famous Hollywood costume designer. They were married from 1939, until his death in 1959. In 1964 she married Paul Gregory, and they were married until her death in 1984. Paul Gregory was a Broadway producer who produced, among other shows, John Brown's Body, which starred Tyrone Power. Just before his marriage to Annabella, Tyrone and Janet Gaynor had a well-publicized romance.

Ruby Keeler's began her career as a dancer. In 1928, she married entertainer Al Jolson. She moved with him to Hollywood and began her film career. Her film career consisted mostly of less than a dozen light musicals in the 1930's, often with Dick Powell. She returned to Broadway in 1970 in a revival of No, No Nanette.

Tidbit
Simone Simon was a top star of French films when Darryl F. Zanuck signed her up to a contract at 20th Century-Fox in 1936. She made a few Hollywood films, but, after just a couple years, she returnd to France, after becoming unhappy with her American film career. Due to events in Europe during World War II, she took refuge in America, where she made a few films, among them the horror flick, Cat People. After the war, she returned to her career in France.
